Digital images should ideally have the following specifications:

1. They should be in their original format if possible.

2. They should be a minimum of 200dpi resolution (300dpi preferred) - Note if using a digital camera, shots should be taken at the highest resolution offered. Photos should not be enlarged beyond their original size.

3. They should be in one of the following file formats: JPG/ JEPG/ BMP/ TIFF/ PNG/EPS

4. File size should not be greater than 10MEG.

5. You can even burn them onto a disk and mail it to us if you wish.

6. Using Scanned Images - Photos should always be scanned at 100% and 300 dpi. If you want a photo enlarged, you should scan it at a higher dpi (eg. 600). If possible, choose CMYK colour mode and either .tiff or .eps for file type. Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg) and GIF (.gif) should be avoided.

7. Colour matching - please remember that when you view an image on the screen (computer monitor) you are seeing it in RGB mode. But it will be printed in CMYK mode and there may be a colour variance, especially with colours like orange, red and blue.

8. SKIN COLOUR: Digital images uploaded from a quality digital camera produce much better results than images scanned from a processed photo. Processed photos use various adjustment techniques to get the best reult. But these adjustments come to the fore when the photo is scanned. This particularly applies to photos taken by those services you will find in shopping centres.
